ReDiscover

Created Overnight after 20 Years in Development

I made it to where I wanted to be. An HR Director in a fantastic organisation, with an awesome team, great relationships, aligned values and a lot of forward momentum. But, like so many others who 'pop out the top' of the profession they love - I'd moved away from my passion. It turned out "where I wanted to be," wasn't where I wanted to be. I needed to ReDiscover who I was and what I really wanted. And that, it turns out, is quite simply to help people.

I believe that the true power and value of HR is in enabling an organisation to grow around its people. All of its people. It's about relationships based on empathy, trust, integrity, learning and vulnerability.

We shouldn't underestimate the power of vulnerability. Imagine a culture where people aren't afraid of showing their vulnerabilities. How supportive you can then be to them. How authentically they will be showing up to work. How they will give their absolute best to make their organisation, and each other, a success.

My 20 years in HR across multiple sectors have proven to me that a values-based, sincere approach to activities and relationships is the only way to create robust, resilient and successful places of work. Whatever challenges you may be facing.

Our Vision

Our Coaching Vision is simple; to work with our clients to create magic.

We all have two futures open to us; the one we allow to happen and the one we create ourselves. Like a one-degree course correction at the start of a long voyage, the results over time can be a world away from the original destination. We don't just help you 'realise' your potential, we help you to redefine it.

Our HR Consulting Vision is also simple; to help you sleep at night.

Throughout my HR Career across many sectors, I've lost very little sleep, despite some fairly daunting situations. The key is not in what we do, but how we do it. You don't improve employee relations by putting in a new policy; you improve them by creating and nurturing relationships based on trust and integrity. You don't 'get rid' of anyone; you learn exactly what may have gone wrong, why, and take any resulting action with integrity, understanding and dignity. You can't just change a culture; you live it, protect it, defend it and share stories about it. And you can't hope to support your own mission and vision with 'off the shelf' policies that don't align with the heart of your organisation, no matter the size. Get this all right and you will never lie awake worrying about it. You might just wake up smiling in the morning though.

Finally, our Safer Recruitment Vision is to shatter the myths and complacency that endanger children.

Introducing and supporting true safer recruitment practices across 45 schools is one of my proudest achievements. "We're compliant," is hard to hear, as only an understanding of the dangers and methods used by potential offenders gives you the tools you need to protect your children. "Don't worry, we've run a DBS check..." Understand that only c.1.5% of active child offenders will present with a disclosure. There is much, much more to keeping your children safe; via our Lucy Faithfull Foundation accredited training, we want to give this deeper understanding to as many schools as we can.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

Value 01.

Integrity

Our values may change somewhat over time, but integrity has always been at the top of the list for us.

Integrity honours and upholds all other values; without it, they would be meaningless. Integrity means a good night's sleep; brings victories from failure; promotes understanding in the absence of agreement. It enables trust, progress and valued relationships. When we get something wrong, it brings meaning to our apology.

It is the foundation of ethical behaviour.
